High School Member of first-team All-City his junior and senior year, as a forward and center respectively Averaged 17.5 points per game as a senior Also played baseball for the Grizzlies College Three-year starting center and leading scorer for the University of Washington Consensus All-American selection and Helm Foundation National Player of the Year as a senior National College Player of the Year as a senior Led the Huskies to Final Four appearance as a senior, averaging 25.6 points per game Earned varsity baseball letters in 1951 and 1952 Professional Played five NBA seasons for the Detroit Pistons, Fort Wayne Pistons, Boston Celtics, Baltimore Bullets and Milwaukee Hawks Inducted into College Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987 and charter member of UW's Husky Hall of Fame in 1979 General manager for the Seattle SuperSonics 1970-1973 Elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987
