High School • Three-time basketball All-American guard; also competed in track and softball • Led the girls basketball team to the 1980 state title • Set state tournament scoring records, including a 38-ppg average College • Three-time All-American guard at Louisiana State • Set school records for points, assists, and steals over four-year career Other • Led the U.S. women’s team to the gold medal at the 1983 World University games • Played five years professionally overseas before becoming one of the first women on the Harlem Globetrotters • Inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in 1997 • Named to the “All-Century Team” as “state’s greatest female player” by The Seattle Times in 1999 • Inducted into both the National High School Hall of Fame and the WIAA Hall of Fame in 2004 • Coached Garfield girl’s team to state championship in 2005; retired as a coach in 2016, but remained involved as a mentor/trainer for Garfield basketball • CEO of ReJoyce Fundamentals Academy (a non-profit that connects sports and STEM programs in summer) • Hired by Highline High School as a Re-Engagement Specialist
