High School • Member of first-team All-City his junior and senior year, as a forward and center respectively • Averaged 17.5 points per game as a senior • Also played baseball for the Grizzlies College • Three-year starting center and leading scorer for the University of Washington • Consensus All-American selection and Helm Foundation National Player of the Year as a senior • National College Player of the Year as a senior • Led the Huskies to Final Four appearance as a senior, averaging 25.6 points per game • Earned varsity baseball letters in 1951 and 1952 Professional • Played five NBA seasons for the Detroit Pistons, Fort Wayne Pistons, Boston Celtics, Baltimore Bullets and Milwaukee Hawks • Inducted into College Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987 and charter member of UW's Husky Hall of Fame in 1979 • General manager for the Seattle SuperSonics 1970-1973 • Elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987
